Fresh Air Group is a dynamic small business and well established in our field with an impressive client portfolio including Royal Mail Group, Three Mobile, Leaseplan and numerous high street banks. We apply creative audio production services to a variety of areas, fulfilling our clients’ objectives not just through an excellent end product, but with strategic support and consultancy. We provide media production solutions for B2B communications, sponsored content, internal communications, contact centres, customer experience and IVR systems.

We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced business professional – with added wow – to be our new Head of Growth.

Understand, this not just a sales and business development role. You will become an intrinsic part of our business and want us to excel in everything we do.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and explore new opportunities, develop new products/services, sectors and areas for growth – and strategise how the business will venture into these areas.
  • Creating and executing a sales and marketing plan to achieve this.
  • Work on lead generation, identify prospective clients, devise a plan of attack and execute it.
  • Meet with clients face to face and have superb telephone skills to engage with them over the ‘phone – including the ability to chair conference calls. Note, that our clients are UK-wide.
  • Strategic development – identifying aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business and create a roadmap accordingly.
  • Engage in competitor analysis.
  • Identify available tenders, and manage the tendering process.
  • Structured reporting – you will know how to provide in-depth reporting and identify KPIs, updating the team on progress, pitfalls and how we will navigate them accordingly.
  • You will represent the business at key events.
  • You will also organise our own events (including online), seminars and ‘meet-ups’ to help us engage with potential clients, contacts, partners, influencers and community stakeholders.
  • Drive our social media presence, and understand how to (with the support of our production team) harness content marketing and engagement on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms to increase our exposure - Investigating and evaluating the use of software tools to assist us here, and include social media statistics as part of your reporting.
  • You’ll be able to write excellent copy for business communications, sales messages and our website. An understanding of the SEO objectives of the latter would be advantageous.
     
  • You will be given an agreed revenue target and be expected to achieve this.

You will understand how to write a business or project plan and how to run a project efficiently and profitably. You will understand how budgets work and may be asked to manage client expenditure budgets.

Don’t apply if you’ve never created a PowerPoint presentation before, carried out a mail merge accurately, worked with spreadsheets, don’t know what a spreadsheet formula is or if you haven’t stood up in front of a room full of people to conduct a Q&A. 

Of course you will have excellent production support from our creative team to help you showcase what we do best.

Media related experience is not essential but would be an advantage.

As is the nature of working for a small business, this role is expected to develop over time. You will be aware of the impact you can bring to a small business, and you will have a passion for wanting it to succeed.

Reporting to the CEO, this is an exciting stage in our development, and we are open to Fresh new ideas. Make sure you bring them to the table! 

Role: Full time. Initial contract period of 12 months.

Salary: £25,000 to £35,000 depending on experience.

Open to discussions regarding performance related rewards.

06-01-20: Are you a freelance video editor?

We are a small business but well established in our field with an impressive client portfolio. As is the nature of our business, our workload varies, and we have found that engaging with reliable, trustworthy freelancers is an excellent way to create a team that is ready to serve our clients’ needs.

Our video production output is increasing, and we need to grow our network of freelance video editors.

The following skills are required:

  • Excellent knowledge of Final Cut Pro X
  • Ability to work with chromakey
  • Able to work with multiple camera sources/angles within FCPX
  • Ability to sync multiple sources (a separate video and audio feed)
  • Working with titles, plug-ins and generators other than those supplied as standard in FCPX (from the likes of Pixel and FXFactory)
  • A knowledge of masking
  • Creative use of video effects – but remember, we’re not in the movie industry!

You’ll have access to your own FCPX editing set-up and be able to work from your own location (a good internet connection is essential, so you can download assets and material from our production centre).

UK-based editors will be required to work at our production centre in Plymouth occasionally, so FCPX on a MacBook Pro would be useful.

Editors based in Hungary should be available to meet in central Budapest, where our satellite office is based, and be able to speak English to a very good standard.

Occasionally our work is demanding, almost ‘newsroom’ in style when responding to a client emergency, so you’ll need to be efficient and able to work at speed when the need arises.

You’ll be happy to sign an NDA as much of our work is confidential. It’s also worth mentioning that our freelance engagement contract contains a project-based non-compete, in order to protect our client relationships.
